July 4th Week – Expanded Program Offerings

Our 250th Anniversary comes by only once. Over the past few weeks, we have listened to your requests for expanded programs featuring our outstanding presenters. We have added more days and times for you to celebrate our 250 years of Independence.


Thursday

July 2nd

2:00pm – 3:00pm

Chris Vallillo

Noted musician and storyteller, Chris Vallillo will present “Abraham Lincoln in Song” on the grounds of the Museum (212 W. Main Street).


Friday

July 3rd

2:00pm – 3:00pm

Chris Vallillo

Chris will present “The Music of Stephen Foster” on the grounds of the Museum.

July 3rd

3:30pm – 5:00pm

Connie Martin

Connie Martin, MA. Historian, speaker, noted educator and performer, will present “Pre-Civil War Quilts: Secret Codes to Freedom on the Underground Railroad”. Connie will share the stories behind her family quilts passed down through generations. The presentation will be in the Creet Building on the grounds of the Museum.


July 4th

11:00am – 1:00pm

Join us after the Barrington 250th Independence Day Parade for an ice cream social on the Museum grounds.

Steve Duchrow

Steve Duchrow will present Carl Sandburg’s “Lincoln: A Living Portrait” on the grounds of the Museum.  Steve is an experienced Historian, actor, and storyteller. His presentations bring both Carl Sandburg and Abraham Lincoln to life as he paints you into the scenes of our great History. This is a program not to be missed. Steve will be joined by musician Roger Hintzsche.

July 4th

Connie Martin

Connie Martin will present “Hidden Messages in Negro Spirituals on the Underground Railroad” in the Creet Building on the grounds of the Museum.


Sunday

July 5th

2:00pm – 3:00pm

Chris Vallillo

Join us on the grounds of the Museum for our Grand Finale to a patriotic week of celebration as Chris Vallillo takes us on a musical journey through “Songs of Democracy: Our 250th Tribute to American Independence and Freedom.”
